According to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins has died at the age of 24 after being hit by a car in south Florida. This information came to Schefter per Haskins’ agent Cedric Saunders.

Haskins joined the Steelers before the 2021 season and looked to be in the mix to battle for the starting quarterback job this season after the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger.

Details are scarce at the moment but we will share any updates we have as they come in. For now, our hearts go out to Haskins’ family during this time. Haskins played his college football at Ohio State and was drafted in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft by the Washington Commanders.

Presumably Haskins was in south Florida by invitation of Mitch Trubisky who had invited his new teammates to his home to work out and get to know each other.
